Carien van Dalen

Carien van Dalen grew up in the small town of Reitz in the Free State, where the library quickly became her favorite place to escape into new worlds. She now lives in Nelspruit and writes across a variety of genres, from romance to adventure and action—always led by the story that demands to be told.

Carien started writing at the age of eleven and still treasures those early handwritten stories. Her published works include The Ranch of Last Chance and Reaper, both released through Malherbe Uitgewers. Before that, she explored self-publishing with titles such as Wolf by Any Other Name, These Spy Games, and Call of the Siren, which she has since withdrawn.

She finds inspiration in dreams, music, everyday experiences, and spontaneous moments of creativity. Her readers mean the world to her—she writes to share stories that offer the same kind of escape and joy that reading has always given her.

When she isn’t writing, Carien enjoys reading, crocheting, cooking, baking, and exploring with her family. She welcomes feedback and loves hearing from readers who journey through her stories.
