Imka Marx was living her peaceful if somewhat lonely life of an introverted writer, when one lunch date with her father ended up forcing her to face her mortality and choices courtesy of one aptly named Reaper who abducted her and tortured her for information about her father.
After he had left her tied up in her own house, she had to deal with PTSD and a new fear of going out in public. Just when she thinks that she’s planned her life in a manner that would protect her in the future, Reaper returns and abducts her again as a method to draw her father out. That’s when she learns that her father is unwittingly working for a terrorist organization and the man that has abducted her repeatedly is one of the good guys, causing her planned out future to crumble into chaos that she has no control over.
